What spec are your are your servers?
We use Pentium 4 servers with at least 2.8Ghz 1024MB RAM each. They all run Red Hat Linux with Plesk 7 control panel. We keep our servers up to date with the latest software available.

Where can I download a file to test network speed?
A 5mb test file can be downloaded from 5mb.test.zip

What control panel do you use?
We use the latest Plesk Control Panel version 7

Can I try a demo of the control panel?

Primary: ns1.skylap.com
Secondary: ns2.skylap.com

How long will it take for the DNS change to propagate throughout the internet?
Depending on your ISP it can take anywhere from 24-72 hours usually. Usually your domain will be registered and nameservers changed within 24 hours. Your hosting account will be setup way before then.

Were do I upload my files to?
Point your ftp client at ftp.yourdomain.com or ftp.skylap.com and upload your files to the httpdocs directory.

What is the path to perl?
/usr/bin/perl

What is the path to sendmail?
/usr/sbin/sendmail

What is the full path to my CGI-BIN?
/home/httpd/vhosts/yourdomain.com/cgi-bin/

What is the full path to my root directory?
/home/httpd/vhosts/yourdomain.com/httpdocs/

Where can cgi scripts be executed from?
CGi scripts can be executed from the cgi-bin.

Where can PHP scripts be executed from?
PHP scripts can be executed from any directory.

What are my incoming and outgoing mailservers?
Both incoming (POP3) and outgoing (SMTP) mailservers are mail.yourdomain.com

How do I access IMP webmail
Webmail can be accessed by pointing your browser at http://webmail.yourdomain.com and logging in with your Pop3 username and password. You must make a mailbox account in your control panel before logging into webmail.

How do I access my website statistics?
To access your Webalizer statistics please go to http://www.yourdomain.com/webstat or https://www.yourdomain/webstat

Do you offer phone support?
Web hosting tech support is not well-suited to the telephone. Relaying URLs, complex error codes, program settings, file paths, etc. are awkward by voice at best. Because this is a print format we are dealing with (printed on the screen, that is) it transfers natively to a print-based/visual support system such as e-mail or a helpdesk. There is no efficient or accurate voice replacement for copy/pasting a line, or taking a screenshot. Trying to do these things by voice is frustrating and time-intensive for both parties.
